PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, ONBOARDING AND ORIENTATIONS, SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT AND STAFF RETREATS

Benefits of Our Services

Providing quality care has become increasingly challenging due to a shortage of nurses. There has always been a more pressing need for multi-skilled employees than now, as long-term care organizations need help dealing with this shortage. In light of recent staffing mandates initiated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), we need to provide training and orientation programs that will support and encourage new registered nurses (RNs) to desire to work in long-term care facilities.

NSDXPERT recognizes this need and has meticulously designed comprehensive programs to address it. Analyzing the complexity of long-term care delivery, we found that nurses must possess many skills.

Our services bring many benefits extending beyond individual outcomes to broader organizational goals. Facilities can experience improved staff retention, enhanced clinical results, increased resident satisfaction, and tangible financial benefits.

Developing a culture of excellence can help healthcare organizations prevent penalties associated with staffing shortages and suboptimal care delivery. Furthermore, improved star ratings, skilled resident admissions, and better reputation are all natural byproducts of a competent, engaged, and committed workforce.

Transition to Practice Program (TPP)

NSDXPERT offers a transition to Practice Program – a signature program tailored for new graduate nurses as well as international registered nurses migrating to practice in the US —whether LPNs, RNs, or BSNs—venturing into long-term care practice. Our program adopts a competency-based curriculum that equips nurses with the essential skills and knowledge required for seamless integration into the US healthcare system. Comprising five core comprehensive modules and one module dedicated to hands-on skills competency, our program ensures a holistic approach to professional development and seamless integration into the workplace.

Consultations

NSDXPERT provide consultations to facilities to enhance their training programs and staff retention efforts. Our approach begins with a thorough assessment of the facility’s training and retention issues. Based on this assessment, we develop customized strategies tailored to the specific needs of the organization. We provide implementation support and ongoing evaluation of these initiatives to ensure their effectiveness in addressing the identified challenges. Currently we are working in collaboration with Carillion Clinic on the Virginia Long-Term Care Infrastructure Pilot Projects (VLIPP). As partners, we provide training and support to Infection Preventionists serving nursing homes and SNFs in the Virginia Southwest Region.

Onboarding And Orientation Support Programs

Our Onboarding and Orientation Support Programs (OOSP) are designed to streamline the onboarding process for new hires in long-term care facilities. These structured programs offer a combination of didactic workshops and hands-on training to ensure practical proficiency in essential long-term care processes and systems. By aligning training with facility policies and procedures while upholding industry standards, we facilitate the seamless integration of new staff members into the workforce.

Continuing Education (CE) Program

We provide continuing education programs specifically for long-term care nurses. These programs focus on enhancing clinical skills, improving patient care outcomes, and promoting career advancement opportunities. Through a combination of didactic lectures, workshops, and practical sessions, we empower nurses to excel in their roles and stay abreast of industry best practices. NSDXPERT is an approved CE Provider through the Florida Board of Nursing.

Training Books And Resources

Our training books and resources are designed to enhance the professional development of long-term care nurses. With titles such as “Navigating Long-Term Care: A Practical Approach for Nurses” and its accompanying reflective workbook, we provide valuable references for self-paced learning. These resources serve as valuable tools for in-person training sessions, offering staff ongoing support and learning opportunities. It is worth noting that the American Nurses Association (ANA)- Massachusetts Chapter, in a recent review, recommends that facility nurses adopt our resources in their staff training.

Staff Retreats And Conferences

We organize rejuvenating staff retreats and conferences dedicated to staff engagement and morale. Our events feature engaging agendas with team-building activities, educational sessions, and motivational speakers. These events provide opportunities for networking, sharing best practices, and fostering a positive work culture within the organization
